Spring Into Action

April 2025 finds many of us facing tough organizational or personal decisions. Rising costs, job insecurity, and inflation are affecting all of us.

Meeting Critical Needs Together

As winter gives way to spring, we at Gleaning For The World are feeling both the renewed energy of the season and the weight of uncertainty that many across our nation are experiencing. The warmth and promise of longer days bring a sense of hope, but because of the many changes and challenges we are all facing across our country, nothing seems to be business as usual.

Tough Choices In a Time of Inflation

We understand those challenges deeply. April 2025 finds many of us facing tough organizational or personal decisions. According to Feeding America, there are 47 million people (which includes 14 million children) in the United States currently facing food insecurity. Rising costs, job insecurity, and inflation are affecting all of us. Just as families must prioritize how and where to spend their resources, so must we. Stewarding the donations and supplies entrusted to us is always top of mind, but now more than ever, we are called to be even more efficient, deliberate, and prayerful about every decision we make.

The Hidden Cost Of Economic Hardship

While these financial hardships impact everyone, they weigh heaviest on the most vulnerable. The same inflation that raises the cost of groceries for one household may result in total food insecurity for another. And when a natural disaster strikes, those living paycheck to paycheck are often left with no way to rebuild or recover. We’ve seen the devastation first-hand. Entire households swept away, families left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and heartbreaking stories from people who never imagined they’d be in need.

Following God’s Call To Serve Near and Far

Over the nearly three decades of our ministry, and through almost twenty years of personal commitment from many of our staff and volunteers, we’ve seen God guide our hands and hearts to serve precisely where we’re needed. Sometimes that means shipping medical supplies to a faith-based clinic halfway around the globe. Other times it means loading a truck with food, clothing, and hygiene items for a local church serving its neighbors. It could be a missionary with a desire to help young girls receive an education thru the gift of a sustainable feminine hygiene kit or it could be the act of comforting a child who has faced trauma with the gift of a stuffed animal. No matter the distance, God continues to reveal where He wants us to deliver hope.

Together We Deliver Hope

As we step into this new season, we are more committed than ever to serving those in need with compassion, dignity, and faith. And we are incredibly grateful for you. Your generosity, your belief in our mission, and your continued support empower us to be the hands and feet of Christ in a world that so desperately needs healing and hope.

This Easter, we celebrate new life, new beginnings, and new opportunities to make a lasting difference. Thank you for walking with us through every season and through every challenge as we continue to serve together.

In service and partnership,
