We love our pets, too! And for over 10 years we’ve been helping pets affected by natural disasters right along with individuals and families. Whenever we’re responding to a major storm in the U.S. we make sure to include pet food and supplies ensuring our 4-legged friends have what they need to make it through those challenging events.

Recognizing there was a growing need for pet food and supply assistance for struggling animal welfare groups and pantry programs across Virginia (and beyond), we sought ways that could support these organizations. As a result, we’re excited to have teamed up with GreaterGood.org and its GOODS program to provide on-going resources – low-cost pet food, pet supplies and litter – to animal welfare agencies in our local area and across the Commonwealth. These much-needed and affordable resources allow rescues and pantries to stretch their dollars further, which ultimately helps save lives throughout Virginia and provides assistance to communities ensuring more pets get to stay with the people that love them.

Since 2020, Gleaning has distributed 1.2 Million pounds of pet food, pet supplies and litter to over 60 approved organizations throughout Virginia.
