COLLECTING FOR TN FLOOD RELIEF

Here we go again! If you’ve been anywhere near a newscast lately you’re probably aware that there have been several major weather activities going on in the last week.
One in particular is the torrential rainfall our friends in Waverly, Tennessee experienced on Saturday. This severe storm had creeks overflowing very quickly, which resulted in water rushing into homes and businesses, toppling over vehicles and lifting buildings from their foundations. The water moved out as fiercely and as quick as it appeared, leaving residents with the difficult job of picking up the pieces that are worth saving…

While we are still collecting supplies in response to the Haiti earthquake that happened just over a week ago, we could not overlook the need that was right here in our neighboring state of Tennessee!

So, we are responding to help those affected by the flood in Waverly, Tennessee. Tomorrow, we’ll be hosting a one-day collection of supplies at our Lynchburg Sam’s Club. Our hope is to fill up a 16’ box truck tomorrow, and get that truck on the road on Wednesday!

We’re asking for very specific muck-out and cleanup supplies for this collection: shovels, rakes, contractor trash bags, bleach, mops, brooms, and plastic totes with lids.

As the residents of Waverly pick through their belongings, trying to find special items that are worth salvaging, we know these tools will be extremely useful in the days to come.

In the coming weeks, we will continue to collect and send life saving supplies to the people of Middle Tennessee. If you are unable to donate in person, please click here to make an online donation in support of TN relief efforts.
