Providing Texans With Disaster Relief

In response to the recent natural disasters that have left a trail of destruction in Central and Eastern Texas, Gleaning For The World is steadfast in its commitment to providing support and relief to affected communities. As a Concord-based disaster response nonprofit, we stand in solidarity with the residents who have endured the devastating impact of twenty tornadoes and widespread flooding over the past three weeks.

The aftermath of these disasters has brought unimaginable challenges to countless individuals and families, leaving them displaced and in urgent need of assistance. Recognizing the severity of the situation, we are mobilizing our resources to deliver essential supplies and services directly to those who have been hardest hit.

Partnering with the Houston Food Bank, we are launching two collection drives aimed at gathering critical resources for distribution throughout Central and Eastern Texas. Our dedicated team will be stationed at Sam’s Club in Lynchburg on Thursday, May 23, and at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Forest on Friday, May 24, to receive donations from generous supporters.

We are deeply moved by the resilience and strength displayed by the communities facing adversity. We understand the importance of providing not just material aid, but also a sense of hope and solidarity during these trying times. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are struggling to rebuild and recover. We urge donors to contribute brand new, unused items to ensure the highest quality assistance for those in need. Financial donations can be made in person at the collection sites, online by clicking here, or by mailing a check to GFTW PO Box 645 Concord, VA 24538 (please indicate “tornado” on the check memo line). Additionally, both financial contributions and tangible goods can be dropped off at our Volunteer Center located at 7539 Stage Road Concord, VA 24538.
