GLEANING TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC INCLUDING $10,000 HOLE-IN-ONE CHALLENGE

Gleaning For The World is back on the greens with the second annual Gleaning Golf Classic. This fundraiser golf tournament will be held on Friday, October 1 on the link at the Falling River Country Club in historic Appomattox, Virginia. A shotgun start will begin promptly at 1pm with a Captains Choice format.

“We received a lot of positive feedback and support from the community and local businesses after our inaugural golf classic last year, and we knew we wanted to come back and build on that success, and continue to grow the Golf Classic.” Tournament Chairman, Mark O’Brien said.

“Last year, even during the pandemic, we were able to host a fun tournament, and together we raised funding to make sure whenever disaster strikes, wherever poverty is a barrier, and whenever our neighbors are in need, Gleaning is able to provide help and hope to those who are hurting.”

Players can enjoy extra competitions during the tournament, such as the longest drive and closest to the pin challenges.

The Gleaning Golf Classic $10,000 hole-in-one challenge is back this year as well!

“We are pleased to announce that this year’s tournament is sold out!” O’Brien added, “With thanks to our sponsors such as Centra HealthVirginia MetalFabMills Heating and AirDelta StarCornerstone Church of Christ in Bedford, and more, this year’s Gleaning Golf Classic is already a success. We’re looking forward to getting out on the greens on October first and having fun!”

The organization is already accepting sponsor pledges for the 2022 Gleaning Golf Classic. Contact Mark O’Brien at mark@gftw.org to learn more.
