At Gleaning For The World, we believe that honoring our nation’s Veterans should never be limited to a single holiday or moment of recognition. The men and women who served our country carried burdens few will ever fully understand—and many continue to face challenges long after their military service ends. Our Veteran Program is dedicated to supporting them with dignity, compassion, and year-round care.
Through strong partnerships with the Salem Veteran’s Administration, local Veterans Councils, Centra’s hospice program, Honor Flights, and the National Center for Healthy Veterans (Valor Farm), we provide comfort items, essential supplies, and heartfelt reminders that their service is deeply appreciated. From personal care kits and warm blankets to travel bags and handmade quilts created by our Sewing Center volunteers, every item we deliver is a message of gratitude.
Whether supporting Veterans in inpatient and outpatient programs, offering comfort to those in hospice care, or helping Honor Flight participants travel with dignity to Washington, D.C., our mission remains the same: no Veteran should ever feel forgotten.

Over the last 5 years alone, Gleaning For The World has donated in excess of $100,000 in aid supplies to regional Veteran organizations.

Shopping List
Giving to those in need through Gleaning is incredibly easy. We've crafted this list after hours of research and listening to our partners throughout the Commonwealth. Every item purchased and donated will go to someone in need. If you want to order through AmazonPrime - we absolutely welcome that. Use the address below for mailing in your donations. As always - your donation can be used as a write-off on your taxes to the fullest extent allowed by law by federal and state tax codes.
