Small Acts of Kindness Still Make a Lasting Impact
These are challenging days. Whether it is news from around the world or the weight of something closer to home, many people are carrying more than usual right now. And yet, even in the midst of those challenges, there are still individuals who choose to look outward, to care for others, and to put love into action. At Gleaning For The World, we see that spirit every day, and we are deeply grateful.
Since 1998, this mission has been sustained by people who, even during their own difficult seasons, chose to extend a hand to someone else. Through that faithfulness, Gleaning has been able to deliver food, water, medical supplies, disaster relief, and hope to communities in more than 74 countries and 40 states across the United States. This work has never been about convenience. It has always been about compassion. Today, that need continues.
There are families displaced by disasters, unsure of where they will find stability. There are children who are frightened and in need of comfort. There are veterans who have served their country and now quietly face challenges of their own. These are the moments when support matters most.
Through financial gifts, in-kind donations, volunteer service, and prayer, Gleaning For The World is able to meet people where they are and bring hope into some of life’s most difficult situations. Every contribution helps make it possible to respond when needs arise, both locally and around the world.
We understand that choosing to give, especially during times when resources may feel limited, is not a small decision. It reflects a belief that even a small act of generosity can make a meaningful difference in someone else’s life.
Scripture reminds us that it is not abundance that defines generosity, but willingness. Even the smallest gift, when given with faith, has the power to change lives. Each act of giving becomes a quiet statement of hope. It reflects a belief that things can be better and that compassion still has the power to make a difference.
At Gleaning For The World, that belief is at the foundation of everything we do. As we continue serving communities in need, we are reminded of this encouragement:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.”
Galatians 6:9–10 (NIV)
These words serve as a reminder that even in uncertain times, faithfulness matters. Every act of kindness, every moment of service, and every gift given contributes to something greater than we can always see. We are grateful for those who continue to stand with us in this mission. Because of that support, hope continues to reach those who need it most.
