REACHING ACROSS BORDERS: PROVIDING EARTHQUAKE RELIEF IN TURKEY AND SYRIA
Last month, Turkey and Syria were struck with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Not even 10 hours later, another earthquake with a 7.5 magnitude hit Southwest. Even now, Turkey is still experiencing high-magnitude aftershoks that have continued to take lives and injure hundreds. These earthquakes have resulted in the death of over 50,000 people and displaced millions. Search and rescue teams are still working around the clock, but as each day passes, hopes of finding survivors grow dim. This is one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike in this region in the last decade, and survivors need immediate aid.
With an estimated 13+ million people having been affected, makeshift emergency shelters and camps have become places of refuge for families and individuals who are now left homeless. Survivors do not have enough food, water and basic supplies and not having basic supplies can increase the risk of diseases and deaths. .
Gleaning For The World is accepting financial donations to support our partners in this region who are already providing aid to the victims. Food, medicine, blankets, coats, shoes and more are being delivered by teams on the ground.
