Collections for Children and Veterans in Danville

At Gleaning For The World, partnerships with local businesses make a lasting impact. This fall, three Danville-area partners, Danville Toyota, Global Home Furnishings, and Hardy Petroleum are hosting collection drives to support our Teddy Bear Brigade and Veteran’s Aid programs.

Teddy Bear Brigade Drives

Stuffed Animal Drive (Sept 1–30)

Danville Toyota and Global Home Furnishings are collecting new and gently loved stuffed animals for the Teddy Bear Brigade. For children who have lost everything in natural disasters or times of crisis, these “plushies” provide comfort, hope, and a friend to hold. This is the third year both businesses have supported this drive.

Veteran Supply Collection – Hardy Petroleum (Sept 3–Nov 7)

Hardy Petroleum is hosting its first Veteran Supply Collection this year. Donated items such as backpacks, socks, dry foods like beef jerky and nuts, and personal hygiene products will directly benefit veterans across our region with a special focus on those right here at home. Through our partnerships with the Salem Veteran Administration, the Lynchburg Veterans Council, and the Piedmont Area Veterans Council, these essential supplies bring comfort, nourishment, and dignity to those who have served. Your support helps ensure that the veterans in our community are honored and never forgotten.

Veteran Supply Collection – Danville Toyota & Global Home Furnishings (Oct 1–Nov 7)

Following the stuffed animal drive, Danville Toyota and Global Home Furnishings will transition into collecting essential items for veterans. For the third year in a row, these businesses will help us gather supplies that show appreciation and provide tangible support to those who have served.
