Loving and Lifting Children in Need

At Gleaning For The World, we believe children deserve care, compassion, and protection; no matter where they live or what challenges they face. Every day, we see how small acts of kindness can bring hope and healing to children around the world.

In eastern Kentucky, after devastating floods tore through communities, a mother held her crying baby close while emergency relief workers handed her diapers, wipes, and baby formula. These essentials brought a measure of comfort when everything else had been lost.

In Ukraine, amid the horrors of war, a young girl clutched a bright pink stuffed bunny. It was one of thousands of toys we’ve sent to children who are living in crisis zones. That toy brought her a sense of safety and love in a moment of fear.

These moments are at the heart of what we do. Children are the most vulnerable members of any family. We know how precious they are to Jesus, and we make it our mission to care for them wherever the need arises.

Healing Little Bodies

In many underserved areas around the world, children do not have access to basic medical care. Through partnerships with hospitals and clinics, we provide essential medical supplies that give these children the chance to recover and grow stronger. A sick child receiving proper treatment means a family experiencing hope in the middle of hardship. Because of your support, distance and poverty do not have to be barriers to good health.

Bringing Comfort and Joy

A stuffed animal may seem simple, but for a child in distress, it can be a lifeline. Each year, we ship thousands of plush toys to children facing difficult and frightening situations. These soft companions provide comfort and a sense of security. More importantly, they remind children that someone cares about them.

Empowering Girls Through Education

Millions of girls around the world miss school regularly because they lack access to feminine hygiene products. Our hygiene kit program helps change that. We provide reusable menstrual supplies, soap, and educational materials to girls in need. With these resources, they can attend school without interruption and pursue an education with dignity.

When girls stay in school, they become healthier, more informed women. They become leaders in their families and communities, helping to break the cycle of poverty and shaping a better future for the next generation.

Supporting Families from the Beginning

Our commitment to children begins even before they are born. Through our partnerships with pregnancy centers, we provide diapers, wipes, formula, cribs, and strollers to new and expectant mothers. These supplies support families during the earliest and most vulnerable stages of life.

Making Christmas Magical

Every year, unmet needs become even more evident during the holidays. For many families, Christmas is a time of stress rather than celebration. That is why we begin planning in July, collecting toys and stuffed animals to donate during local holiday events. We want every child to experience the joy and wonder of Christmas, no matter their circumstances.
