Whether destruction of this magnitude is caused by nature or by man, it leaves a huge wake of devastation that lingers for years.

PLANES, TRUCKS, BARGES, & CARGO SHIPS

The United Nations estimates that about 70,000 people are in dire need of food and shelter in the Bahamas right now. Some have been able to escape to the United States, however, for the thousands left stranded, life is unimaginable.

Homes are destroyed. Stores are destroyed. The power grid is destroyed. Untold numbers of people are missing. The death toll is rising every day. Survivors of Hurricane Dorian are more than devastated… they are in complete shock, spending each day in survival mode, waiting for help.

Gleaning For The World is responding. We’ve already sent bottled waters, foods, medicines, medical supplies, and more on 5 plane trips to the Bahamas.

North Carolina’s coast and Outer Banks have also seen destruction and flooding because of Hurricane Dorian’s heavy winds and rain. Today, we’ve loaded our first supplies headed to the North Carolina, which will be delivered tomorrow to help the families and individuals who have been affected there. Two more loads will immediately follow.

We’re also working with partners to get supplies to the islands by barge and by cargo ships. We need your support in this mission. There are thousands of people lined up outside of what’s left of the airport waiting to be taken to the United States because all they have left is the clothes they are wearing.

Whether destruction of this magnitude is caused by nature or by man, it leaves a huge wake of devastation that lingers for years. On this date in 2001, we all felt helpless as we learned of the terrorist attacks that day. Today, it is the Bahamians who feel helpless.

They cannot help themselves, but right now we have the opportunity to help.

Will you support our mission to help the Bahamians? Please say yes, and click here to give your best donation. They are devastated. They have nothing. They need our help.

In service and partnership,
