Flooding In Waverly Tennessee

Here we go again! If you’ve been anywhere near a newscast lately you’re probably aware that there have been several major weather activities going on in the last week. One in particular is the torrential rainfall our friends in Waverly, Tennessee experienced on Saturday. This severe storm had creeks overflowing very quickly, which resulted in water rushing into homes and businesses, toppling over vehicles and lifting buildings from their foundations.

In celebration of National Teddy Bear Day on September 9, Mister Goodies (Timberlake Road location) is partnering with Gleaning For The World to collect as many stuffed animals as they can, during this year’s SHARE-a-BEAR-a-THON. Mister Goodies is offering a free ice cream cone to any person who donates a stuffed animal to Gleaning’s Teddy Bear Brigade that evening from 5pm until 9pm.

Gleaning Collects Disaster Relief Supplies June 2021

This year’s official hurricane season began on June first, and the staff at Gleaning For The World is ramping up their disaster response program. The nonprofit organization will be hosting a disaster relief collection at Sam’s Club on Wards Road in Lynchburg this Friday and Saturday, (June 18 & 19) from 10am until 6pm each day.
